The Fool & Six of Wands ✨

Deck: Ethereal Bloom

Today, we have two cards.

The Six of Wands came out over the Fool, and immediately I felt there was a story being told between them.

The Fool represents new beginnings, possibility, innocence, trust, and the willingness to take a leap of faith without knowing exactly where the path will lead.

The Six of Wands traditionally represents victory, success, achievement, recognition, and the moment when we begin to see the results of what we've worked toward.

Together, these cards made me think:

Leap of faith.

Follow the light.

Trust your inner knowing.

A new beginning awaits.

Faith leads to success.

But the imagery tells an even deeper story.

Follow the Light

In this particular Fool card, the traditional male figure has been replaced by a young woman.

She isn't standing at the edge of a cliff.

She is surrounded by a meadow of wildflowers.

One hand stretches gently in front of her, and hovering just above her palm is a small wisp of

light.

Her other arm reaches behind her.

Her hair and dress flow backward as though she is moving forward, or perhaps almost

floating.

Unlike the traditional Fool, she has no companion beside her.

There is something about her that feels completely surrendered to the journey.

She doesn't appear reckless.

She appears trusting.

Perhaps that's an important distinction.

Taking a leap of faith doesn't always mean blindly throwing ourselves into something

without thought or discernment.

Sometimes it means we have listened.

We have questioned.

We have learned.

Then eventually, there comes a moment when we have to trust ourselves enough to move.

The Fool doesn't know exactly where that little light will take her.

She simply trusts it enough to follow.

The Journey Between the Cards

Then I looked at the woman in the Six of Wands.

Something immediately stood out.

She appears older than the Fool.

We cannot see her face because her back is turned toward us, but there is a maturity about

her presence.

Suddenly I wondered:

What if these aren't simply two separate women?

What if we're looking at two stages of the same journey?

The Fool shows us the beginning.

The Six of Wands shows us what can happen when we keep going.

One woman is following a tiny light into the unknown.

The other has traveled far enough to watch the sun begin to rise.

She Walked Through

Traditional imagery for the Six of Wands often shows a victorious figure riding a horse,

surrounded by others who recognize the achievement.

However, today's card is much quieter.

The woman isn't riding the horse.

She stands beside it.

Behind them are the wands.

What caught my attention is that she and the horse have already passed through them.

Whatever those wands represented; challenges, milestones, lessons, barriers, they are

behind her now.

She made it through.

Yet this doesn't feel like victory through force.

It feels like victory through continuance.

She kept moving.

She trusted the journey.

She followed what she knew.

Now she stands on the other side.

From a Wisp of Light to Sunrise

This may be my favorite connection between the cards.

The Fool has only a tiny light.

A small wisp hovering above her hand.

That's all she has to follow.

She can't see the entire path.

She doesn't know where it ends.

She trusts the light for the next step.

Then in the Six of Wands, the sun is rising.

The clouds are parting.

Flowers grow around the woman and her horse, and even behind them along the path

they've already traveled.

What began as a tiny light has become an entire horizon.

Maybe that's what faith sometimes looks like.

We want the sunrise before we're willing to begin walking.

We want certainty.

We want proof.

We want to know the decision will work before we make it.

Maybe we aren't always given enough light to see the destination.

Sometimes we are only given enough to take the next step in faith.

Follow the light you have.

Faith and Success

When I first saw these cards together, one of my immediate thoughts was:

Your faith in following your own inner light will bring great victory, success, and

recognition.

I want to sit with that carefully.

I don't believe tarot guarantees us an outcome simply because we pull a particular card.

But I do believe these cards can invite us to reflect on the relationship between trust and

possibility.

We cannot experience what exists beyond the leap if we are never willing to take it.

We cannot discover where our path leads if we refuse to walk until the entire road is visible.

Sometimes success begins much earlier than the moment anyone else recognizes it.

Sometimes the victory is deciding:

I'm going to trust myself enough to begin.

It could be that the Six of Wands reminds us that willingness to follow our inner knowing can

lead us toward possibilities we couldn't see when we first stepped forward.

The Flowers Along the Way

There are flowers throughout both cards.

The Fool begins among wildflowers.

Then flowers appear again around the woman in the Six of Wands and along the path

behind her.

I love that.

Because perhaps success isn't only whatever waits at the end.

Maybe things were blooming throughout the journey.

Lessons.

Relationships.

Wisdom.

Confidence.

Strength.

Moments we didn't recognize as accomplishments because we were too focused on where

we thought we needed to arrive.

The Six of Wands asks us to acknowledge those things too.

Look behind you.

Look at what you've already walked through.

Look at what grew along the way.

Your journey itself may contain more evidence of success than you realize.

How to Work With This Energy Today

Consider where you may be waiting for certainty before allowing yourself to move forward.

Ask yourself what your inner knowing has already been quietly showing you.

You don't need to see the entire path.

What is the next step you can see?

Then take a moment to look backward too.

Notice what you've already overcome, learned, created, or accomplished.

Allow yourself to acknowledge your progress rather than immediately moving the finish line.

Trust the little light.

Honor how far it has already carried you.

Journal Prompt

Think about something you feel called toward but cannot fully see yet.

What would taking one small leap of faith look like, not because you know exactly how it

will turn out, but because you trust what is guiding you toward it?

Now imagine the two women in today's cards as different versions of yourself.

The Fool stands at the beginning holding her tiny light.

The woman in the Six of Wands stands farther down the path as the sun rises.

What might the woman who has already walked through it say to the woman who is still

afraid to begin?

Finally:

Where in your life have you already become proof that trusting yourself was worth the

risk?

Closing Reflection

Today's cards feel like two moments within the same story.

A young woman begins in a field of wildflowers.

She doesn't have a map.

She doesn't have certainty.

She doesn't even have a companion walking beside her.

She has a tiny wisp of light.

And she follows it.

Then we see another woman.

Older.

Farther along.

She has passed through the wands.

The clouds are parting.

The sun is rising.

Flowers have grown along the path behind her.

Maybe she isn't separate from the Fool at all.

Maybe she is who the Fool became because she was willing to begin.

There will be moments when all we have is a tiny light within us saying:

Go this way.

We may not know exactly where it leads.

Although, maybe faith isn't knowing how the story ends.

Maybe faith is trusting ourselves enough to take the next step anyway.

Follow the light.

Take the leap.

And don't forget to look behind you occasionally.

You may discover that what once required tremendous faith has already become part of the

life you're standing in today.

Remember the wisdom within. ✨
